NWMUN-Portland 2021 - February 19-21, 2021

NWMUN-Portland 2021 will be held entirely virtually using the Gatherly platform. Information on the Gatherly platform is below; information on our other pandemic-related changes can be found at our dedicated COVID-19 page.

Gatherly

Gatherly is an online event platform that allows individuals and organizations like ours to engage in virtual conferences and utilize unique video conferencing tools to successfully bring people together. The platform allows for numerous individuals to work together while closely simulating what would have otherwise occurred during an in-person conference.

While we will cover this in part of our Delegate Preparation and Training Session (from 11:30-1 PM on Friday), below are some other resources that will help you familiarize yourself with the platform.

·         YouTube Tutorials

·         Essential Information

·         The Gatherly Guide

A few other key points to remember:

·         Gatherly requires use of Google Chrome. If you don’t have it, you can download it at www.google.com/chrome.

·         Gatherly organizes its virtual meeting space into “Floors”, each of which is used for a particular purpose similar to meeting rooms in a physical hotel meeting space. The full list of NWMUN-Portland 2021 floors is in the Conference Program.

·         Gatherly allows for two types of video calls: “Huddles”, which occur automatically between people near each other on the map, and “Broadcasts”, which cover an entire floor. “Huddles” max out at 15 people, so if you have a bigger working group, go to Floor 4 or Floor 6 to create a “Broadcast” for your informal session.

If you have any questions, go to the map in the upper right corner of the screen, click on “Elevators,” go to Floor 8 (“Conference Services”), and ask for help at any of the “Support” windows!
